BEAUSSANT LEFÈVRE & Associés

Family auctioneers specializing in House sales and Private Collections sales, BEAUSSANT LEFÈVRE & Associés stands out every year in the French auction house rankings for its exceptional auctions and the dispersal of precious collections that are always eagerly awaited.

Among the House sales and Private Collections sales that have marked the history of the firm: the Impressionist paintings from the collection of Madame Julien Rouart, the jewels of H.I.H., Princess Soraya and Princess Eugenie of Greece and Denmark, furniture from Prince della Torre e Tasso's Château de Duino, furniture and works of art from the Anne-Aymone and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing collections, and house sales of the châteaux of Digoine, Daubeuf and Chiffrevast in Normandy.
Normandie.

More recently, the sale of exceptional pieces has yielded significant results, such as the rediscovery of a silver coffee pot offered by the Siamese ambassadors to Louis XIV on their visit to Versailles on September 1, 1686, acquired by the Château de Versailles for €1m, or La tireuse d'épine by Ponce Jacquio, pre-empted by the Musée du Louvre in June 2020 for €1.4m.
Asian art and jewelry are among the House's flagship specialties.
These include the sale of the Portier collection of Japanese prints in association with Christie's, for which Christie's still holds the world record for a Japanese print (€745,800), and the sale of three imperial seals in 2009, 2014 and 2022. Other highlights include the rediscovery and sale in 2020 of Chinese albums by Yongle Dadian, which sold for €8.1m, the highest auction record in France for the year, all specialties combined. In April 2023, the sale of the Robert and Isabelle de Strycker collections fetched €1.8m (including €1.25m for the Japanese prints collection).

In the high jewelry segment, the auction house recently won a remarkable bid for a 20.45 ct diamond for €781,200, and achieved €1.3 million for a rare Burmese ruby.

Several times a year, the firm organizes specialized sales of collections of Numismatics and Phaleristics (History & Chivalry), two specialties that are now rare on the public auction market, but which are nevertheless very popular with collectors.

Historically close to the world of horse racing, the auction house has handled the sale of the Longchamp racecourse furniture and the estate of Madame Sylvia Wildenstein in March 2021.

Since 2022, the auction house has been expanding on a Paris/Normandy axis, with its second office in the historic center of Caen, in the former Hôtel Paisant, an 18th-century mansion located at 11, place de la République, formerly Place Royale, in addition to its Paris office at 32, rue Drouot, a stone's throw from the famous Hôtel des ventes.

BEAUSSANT LEFÈVRE & Associés confirms its position as a key player in the furniture and fine art auction market, ranking 12th in the Conseil des maisons de ventes' annual art & collectibles ranking for 2022.

On the strength of world records and specialized sales in numerous fields, we are at your disposal to defend your interests and assist you in the appraisal and sale of your collections.
