More recently, the sale of exceptional pieces has yielded significant results, such as the rediscovery of a silver coffee pot offered by the Siamese ambassadors to Louis XIV on their visit to Versailles on September 1, 1686, acquired by the Château de Versailles for €1m, or La tireuse d'épine by Ponce Jacquio, pre-empted by the Musée du Louvre in June 2020 for €1.4m.
Asian art and jewelry are among the House's flagship specialties.
These include the sale of the Portier collection of Japanese prints in association with Christie's, for which Christie's still holds the world record for a Japanese print (€745,800), and the sale of three imperial seals in 2009, 2014 and 2022. Other highlights include the rediscovery and sale in 2020 of Chinese albums by Yongle Dadian, which sold for €8.1m, the highest auction record in France for the year, all specialties combined. In April 2023, the sale of the Robert and Isabelle de Strycker collections fetched €1.8m (including €1.25m for the Japanese prints collection).
In the high jewelry segment, the auction house recently won a remarkable bid for a 20.45 ct diamond for €781,200, and achieved €1.3 million for a rare Burmese ruby.
Several times a year, the firm organizes specialized sales of collections of Numismatics and Phaleristics (History & Chivalry), two specialties that are now rare on the public auction market, but which are nevertheless very popular with collectors.
Historically close to the world of horse racing, the auction house has handled the sale of the Longchamp racecourse furniture and the estate of Madame Sylvia Wildenstein in March 2021.
Since 2022, the auction house has been expanding on a Paris/Normandy axis, with its second office in the historic center of Caen, in the former Hôtel Paisant, an 18th-century mansion located at 11, place de la République, formerly Place Royale, in addition to its Paris office at 32, rue Drouot, a stone's throw from the famous Hôtel des ventes.
