First edition edited by Charles du Moulin. Lacks the engraved frontispiece portrait of the dedicatee. A fine copy. Signature of Aimé de la Fontenelle de Vaudoré (1748–1795) on the title pages. Coat of arms of the de La Fontenelle family, likely affixed by Armand Désiré de La Fontenelle de Vaudoré (1784–1847), historian of the Vendée and founding member of the Société des antiquaires de l’Ouest. Pinholes, foxing, and a few stains. A few leaves uniformly browned. Corners, lower edges, and spines rubbed. The second spine of the second volume is split 8 cm.
