MANUSCRIT.- Juliette, conte. 1827. Manuscript calligraphied - Lot 26
MANUSCRIT.- Juliette, conte. 1827. Manuscript calligraphied in brown ink on laid paper, in-12, 9.5 x 13 cm, 77 pp. paperback, pink paper cover, slipcase of same paper bearing title and date in ink. Charming manuscript of a morality tale featuring Juliette de Mérival, a "little devil who enrages everyone" who goes on to make amends. This tale was written, no doubt by a father, uncle or grandfather, as a "well-deserved reward for Estelle Bacque": "[Juliette's] sorrows came from her faults; she wanted us to write them to help you avoid them". Damage to slipcase. Expert: Cédric and Ithier de FOUGEROLLE
