Iran (Persia) - Order of the Lion and the Sun, founded in 1807, 3rd class (Commander) medal in the shape of a six-pointed star with curved rays, in chiseled silver with openwork diamond points, the rays angled and enameled green; in the center, within a double row of diamonds, a lion reclining before the sun on a yellow enamel background, long chiseled loop, boar’s head hallmark, without ribbon. 89.5 x 70.6 mm France, last third of the 19th century. Very good to excellent condition
