JEAN DISCOURS - Lot 22
JEAN DISCOURS UNE TACHE GRISE, CHADEFOUR VALLEY, NOVEMBER 4, 2021 Signed, numbered 7/15. Fine Art print, Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright paper, mounted on Dibond Nielsen Alpha frame 60 x 90 cm Gift of the artist Jean Discours was born in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, in the Gard region south of the Cévennes, in 1965. A lover of the landscapes he has traversed for many years to cool off in summer, he wanted to keep a trace of them, so he photographed them. His training was mainly self-taught, nourished by photographic readings and numerous exchanges, discussions and work sessions with other photographers. After discovering and working with light in Iceland and Greenland, his work today focuses on portraits of trees and forests in the Massif Central. Jean Discours pays particular attention to the quality of his prints, most of which he produces in his studio, where he also creates artist's books. He exhibits mainly in regional venues and takes part in a number of festivals.
