JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868), 18th century Small rectangular kobako decorated in hira maki-e gold lacquer and nashiji with cranes in flight, pine trees and weeping willow near the shore, the interior on a nashiji background of camellias and pine branches, the rim decorated with mitsuda (lifts, bumps, chips, wear). Dimensions: 6.7 x 8.5 cm A nashiji lacquer kobako with môn decoration is included. Dimensions: 5 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm Provenance: former Strycker collection, Galerie Le Véel, Paris, October 1947.
