KYRIAKOS KAZIRAS - Lot 29

KYRIAKOS KAZIRAS MISS YOU Signed, numbered 1/4 Fine Art print on Canson Infinity Edition Eching Rag paper American box frame Atelier Fotodart 80 x 120 cm Gift of the artist Kyriakos Kaziras is a professional Franco-Greek photographer living in France. Born in Greece, he developed a passion for photography at an early age. On his first trip to southern Africa, he fell in love with the wilderness, the light and the animals. Since then, he has continued to travel to the remotest corners of the planet, from the African plains to the polar lands. All his work is meticulously prepared in advance, like a storyboard. Each of his photographs is a tableau, playing with light and shadow. He readily admits to having been enthralled by Edgar Reitz's film Heimat, in which every shot was composed like a photograph. Kyriakos Kaziras is strongly influenced by painting, and in particular by the deep, luminous, textured blacks of Pierre Soulages. Cameras are his brushes.
