- Shinsai Ryuryukyo (1764?-1820) Kakugô-Kakujin A Chinese dignitary appears at court. Dressed in Ming-period costume, he stands regally in a paved palace hall. Four poems are inscribed on the left-hand side of the print. They allude to a walk in the countryside, a spring day, melting ice and the nightingale's song. Signed Shinsai. Surimono shikishiban: 13.9 x 19 cm - Shinsai Ryuryukyo (1764?-1820) Shichi-nin Shôjô sairei Year-end greetings from the seven shôjô. A red-haired drunkard (shôjô) performs a sort of rhythmic dance in front of a young woman and her boy, who were playing at the wheel. Signed Shinsai ga. Surimono shikishiban: 14.2 x 18.9 cm - Shinsai Ryûryûkyô (active circa 1799-1823) Teapot and bowl In the foreground of this print, a four-lobed plate containing food appears to be waiting for a guest.
