Kiyonaga Torii (1752-1815) Sumidagawa senchu yokyo. Entertainment on a pleasure boat on the Sumida River At dusk, on a large pleasure boat on the Sumida River, the monkey dance is depicted. Two geisha with shamisen and a man with a tsutsumi, a small drum, accompany her. Signed Kiyonaga ga. Tsuruya publisher's stamp. Format oban tate-e: 38.7 x 26.3 cm (triptych) Repair marks on the monkey's head. Originally a little girl dancing with a mask, gloves and socks made of monkey hair. Framed under glass.
