René FOLLET (1931-2020) - Lot 17
René FOLLET (1931-2020)
Bob Morane, "Mise en boite maison", original cover illustration
Gouache, acrylic, watercolor on paper.
Sheet 39 x 27.5 cm, drawing 32 x 22 cm approx.
A superb cover by the master, for the 2002 reissue of this story by Ananké/Lefrancq, showing René Follet's mastery of dynamic yet realistic compositions. We know of several research projects for this cover illustration, using the same elements. On the reverse, we note a similar colored composition, which appears to be the preliminary draft of the drawing.
