1870-1871 Two flags of the Society of Veterans of the Army and Sea of the 15th section of Versailles in tricolor silk, gold fringed, text embroidered in gold on one "The Veterans of the Army and Sea 1870-1871 Versailles 15th section" and on the other side "Honor and Homeland - Forget ... Never!", on the other side "Les Vétérans et les Militaires des Armées de Terre et de Mer 1870-1871 Versailles 15e section" and "Honneur et Patrie - Oublier ? Never!", with flagpole, gilded bronze tip and tie in the colours of the Society. One signed Narjout-Ruelle, Paris, wear, stains. 86 x 84 cm and 84 x 78 cm (the latter shortened in width) France, end of the 19th century. The Versailles section of the Society of Veterans of the Army and Sea was created in 1896, it bears the number 15. Each section made its flag at its own expense, more or less luxurious according to its means. This one, entirely embroidered with gold, is particularly luxurious.
