As a reminder, as of 1 August 2018, category D-1 has been abolished.
Firearms in this category are now classified as category C subject to declaration.
For the purchase of category C firearms subject to declaration, the purchaser must provide an identity document and a valid hunting licence for the year (or the previous year) or a valid shooting licence (or the previous year).
Category C weapons will only be issued after consultation of the FINIADA file (Fichier National des Interdits d'acquisition et de possession d'armes). The registration of the buyer of a category C weapon in the FINIADA file will automatically result in the nullity of the sale.
The signature of the police book by the buyer as well as the establishment of a CERFA is mandatory.
