Display case with inlaid decoration of fleurons in crosses, opening to a drawer and two glazed leaves in two parts. Lucques breche marble top. Mounts with simulated flutes. Small sheath feet. Ornamentation of gilded bronzes. Iron mark A Beurdeley a Paris. Louis XVI style, Napoleon III period. Height : 165 cm - Width : 79 cm Depth : 38,5 cm This piece of furniture is the exact replica of a Louis XVI period display cabinet, stamped by Godefroy Dester, sold at Hôtel Drouot, Binoche study, October 2013, n°195. Alfred Beurdeley (1808-1882) son of a cabinetmaker and father of a cabinetmaker became by the quality of his workmanship, the most renowned cabinetmaker in Paris in this genre, gifted with an exquisite taste, penetrated with the science of styles to an extremely remarkable degree . He was the supplier of the duke of Nemours, of the empress Eugénie and of Napoleon III. He obtained the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1867.
