Kneeling dignitary. His body is covered by a sleeveless cloa - Lot 143
Kneeling dignitary. His body is covered by a sleeveless cloak, revealing a yellow loincloth decorated with a blue bow on the front. A long necklace, probably made of feathers, and a turban-like headdress embellished with multiple ornaments complete his finery. A scarification in the middle of her forehead evokes a corn cob. The realism of the posture, captured in the moment, with the right palm raised and the other pointing towards the viewer, is typical of the style on the island of Jaina.
Grey-beige-brown terra cotta, with traces of polychromy including Mayan blue.
Broken/glued and missing.
