JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868), 19th century Set of three lacquer boxes including : - One square-shaped box decorated on a nashiji background in gold and brown hira maki-e with a crane and a minogame turtle facing each other in a seascape. Two handles with maple leaf attachment. (Accident, missing). Dimensions: 7.5 x 8.5 x 8.5 cm - One in the form of two recessed rectangles decorated with chrysanthemum branches on a fundame background in hira maki-e gold lacquer. Inside in nashijii (chips, restoration). Dimensions: 7.5 x 7 x 2.1 cm - One of rectangular form, decorated with geese in flight over reeds on an imitation tortoiseshell hira maki-e gold lacquer background (Wear). Dimensions: 3 x 10 x 7 cm
