- Kakei (19th century) Paper, brush and inkstone. On a red mat, a slab of inkstone, a brush and a tanzaku, a strip of strong paper. A New Year's decoration is partly visible in the upper left-hand corner. Date: 1866 (year of the tiger). Signed Kakei. Artist's seal: Yasunobu. Surimono shikishiban: 17.8 x 23.7 cm - Hodai Sato (active between 1833 and 1870) Yellow butterflies and New Year's decoration wo butterflies fly near a willow branch. Next to them, a bamboo stem and a camellia flower. Date: 1864 (year of the rat) Signed Hodai. Hodai artist's seal Surimono shikishiban: 17.8 x 23.8 cm - Baishu Tamate (active 1850-1860) Two young boys and a dog wo young boys are tormenting a small dog running with a valley rope around its neck.
