On the right, a couple is walking. On the left, inverted, a food carrier is approached by two cheerful young boys, one of whom hands him a bowl to fill. Various handwritten annotations are found next to the couple and at the food carrier's feet.

In the foreground, a seated young woman hides her lower face by holding an open fan in her right hand. On the reverse side of the drawing, a mischievous young boy emerges from a house, stretching his arms towards a man.

At the top of the drawing are two men, one of whom is looking at the man wearing a straw hat. To the left, a woman's head appears. She is pushing a shoji with her hand. On the right, a man holds a long pipe in his right hand, while his left hand holds a pouch. In front of them, two vertical bowls are set in a high-sided square tray.

- Shita-e or Gako
At the top of the sheet, a man with a shaved head is depicted horizontally. He is holding a fan in his hands. Below him, a pair of man's legs can be seen, followed to the right by a man's head, which appears to be watching the scene. In the right foreground, a woman has rested her shamisen, a three-stringed guitar, on her lap. She hands a saucer to a man standing to her right. In front of them, a table is set for a meal. Seated with his back to her, a man appears to be talking to the young woman.

At the top of the drawing on the left, a cloud is sketched, then a horizontal man wearing sandals appears to enter the room. Below him, a young woman can be seen carrying a baby on her back. Below these figures, a woman with a bun held in place by barrettes holds her kimono collar in her right hand, spreading it across the floor. To her right, a young boy walks on his knees. He seems to be heading for a door.

n an interior, a smiling man looks down at a table of food, rice and fruit. In front of him, a large vase sits on the floor. To his left, a large candlestick flickers with flame. On his right, a young woman is adjusting her kimono with her right hand. Barrettes hold back her chignon.

Shita-e or Gako
Three figures and two birds can be seen. A woman and a bird are reproduced in reverse on this drawing. This one appears to be a geisha. The bow of her obi is closed at the front. The bird, with its wings spread, seems to be trying to land on the sides of her kimono.
