Couple of pheasants and peonies
On a tree branch sits a male pheasant, kiji. The brown-plumaged pheasant above him looks on. On the left of the print, botanicals, peonies, are in bloom. From the series Flowers and Birds.
Signed Zen Hokusai iitsu hitsu.

Couple of peacocks and peonies
In the foreground, a male peacock, kujaku, whose ocelli-spotted tail feathers are spread out on the rock. The shy peahen hides under the same rock. Peony, botanical and pink-red flowers separate them. At top left, paulownia blooms above the majestic bird. On the right, next to the stream, shuro leaves (hemp palms) appear.

A deer, right leg bent, seen from behind, gazing at the full moon. It is perched on a rock. Red flowers appear at the bottom of this promontory.
