Gan ran, rocks and orchids Kengai ran, orchids on the rocks of a steep slope Inscription on scroll, left: Ran chiku sô sei (Orchid and bamboo, both equally beautiful and pure). ate: 1911, year of the wild boar and metal aki's younger brother: autumn. A white-bearded patriarch sits in an armchair. In front of him on a table are a miniature garden and an earthen pot. His white-haired wife on his left, seated in a chair, watches their grandchildren play almost at their feet. The two little boys, their heads shaved, are playing "horse".
