Hidemaro Kitagawa (active early 19th century) Geisha and jester Bust portraits of a geisha and a taiko mochi, a professional entertainer. The young woman, seen from behind, turns her head to the left, while the man, seen from the front, leans to the right. She is wearing a black kimono with white braids, encircled by a red obi holding her fan. Her companion, in a light-blue kimono with white spots, is standing back, holding a half-open fan.
