At the pond's edge, under wisteria trellises, some rest in contemplation or sample some delicacy: to the left, on the rectangular lantern is inscribed O yasumi dokoro, place where one rests; in the foreground, on two stone lanterns is inscribed Kyôbashi Sennyo ko, Kyôbashi's "Sennyo ko" rice powder. Wearing umbrellas, they use one of them to carry their picnic. A young boy of the warrior class passes them on the right. On the left, a woman, her feet in the water, harvests lotus rhizomes.
