In 1984, he began a regular collaboration with the newspaper Libération, for which he produced numerous reports and portraits and which organized his first exhibition. He participated in the creation of the Vu agency in 1986 and regularly published in the French and international press. In parallel to his photojournalism and portrait work, he creates advertising campaigns, works in institutional communication and creates fashion series. At the same time, he pursues personal research that has led him to exhibit in many countries. Gérard Uféras likes to treat his subjects in depth and considers the publication in the press, the edition and the exhibition as a whole serving to express his intimate vision of a subject.
