1917, important case in the shape of a Marshal's baton in cardboard covered with red and green morocco decorated with small irons, the ends decorated with a star, the central part decorated with a dedication in gilded metal letters "To Marshal Joffre the French Colony of Basel", signed Kaufmann maroquinier in Basel (missing base, the base detached), inside a diploma entirely handwritten on parchment congratulating Marshal Joffre for his nomination, "By awarding you the Marshal's baton, the highest military dignity it could bestow on you, the Government of the Republic has fulfilled the wish of all French people.
