Muse draped, sitting and reading Blood on cream paper. 21.2 x 14.5 cm Stamp of the Chennevières collection down in the centre (L. 2072) Glued in full on a 15.5 x 22 cm sheet Inscribed, signed and dated on the lower right: "Grandeur / de la / Pierre / M. Denyert / 1742", and annotated on the lining paper on the lower left: "Agatte-onix en creux, du Cabinet de M. le Duc d'Orléans". Provenance: - Marquis Philippe de Chennevières (quoted in "Une collection de dessins d'artistes français", chap. XX, p. 100). - Sale 1900, part of n° 366 (366 - Pastorale antique - Grande ronde de Bacchants and Bacchantes - Young girl sitting and reading (engraved stone). Three drawings. With sanguine.
