[Amsterdam, Daniel Elzevier], 1665. Small in-12, long-grained black morocco, decorated with gold and cold gold motifs on the smooth spine and the plates, gold edges (Hering). First edition of the French translation by Claude Joly (Willems, no. 1355). Provenance: Anselm Vanden Bogaerde (ex-libris vignette). - ÉRASME. In praise of madness. In Basle, at J. J. Thurneysen the Younger, 1780. In-8, red morocco, smooth back decorated with gold motifs and mosaics, plates decorated with gold motifs, gold edges. Original edition of the translation by Jean-Charles Laveaux. Printed on large paper (strong laid). Portrait-frontispiece engraved on copper, woodcut vignettes in the text after Hans Holbein.
