Pair of very large oval vases covered on porcelain pedestals, decorated with antique scenes with Orythia kidnapped by Borea (after François-André Vincent) and Le Temps qui sauve la Vérité du Mensonge et de l'Envie (after François Lemoyne) on one side, and undergrowth landscapes on the other side, in gold net reserves. Blue background decorated with garlands and golden and platinised lily flowers.
Exceptional gilded bronze frame with two handles decorated with masks and laurel branches. Square bronze base decorated with lambrequins, trimmings, seeds, laurel wreath and porcelain plaques.
Three medallions are signed "A. Schilt Sèvres", the fourth the signature "Ab. Schilt Sèvres 84".
Napoleon III period.

François Philippe Abel Schilt, character painter, active at the Sèvres manufactory from 1847 to 1880.
The painting of François-André Vincent is kept at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Tours (inv. 1873-3-1).
François Lemoyne's 1737 painting is kept in the Wallace Collection in London (inv. P392).
